The Family

Rachel

Ever since my parents got me my first dog ‘Brandy’ when I was 5 years old I have never been without a dog in my life. Dogs are my life! It all started with Brandy my German Shepherd, she was such a beautiful girl and was so patient with me, being only five I loved playing vets with her, so on many occasions she would have a bandage around her leg. It didn’t really come as a surprise to my parents when I got a job at the local boarding kennels, it was the best job ever, so many different breeds, characters and just so much fun. I learnt a lot in my time at the Kennels and a little dog called Ted (a mini Schnauzer) would lead me to get my own little schnauzer ‘TJ’ because I just fell in love with the breed.

I have grown to love so many different breeds of dogs but I just don’t have a house big enough to have them all. My spare time is spent walking the dogs, taking them to agility or to dog shows, I also love speaking to other dog owners and hearing all about their dogs and all the stories that they have to tell.

Hi everyone,

I’ve got to say writing about yourself is really hard, you don't want to come across too arrogant so you water it down a bit but on the other hand you want to give an accurate description of whom you are, but here goes.

I was born in a small place called Chell, Stoke on Trent. From the second I could walk cricket became my life. I followed in my dads footsteps you could say as we both played for a club called Knypersley cc, My dad also played minor counties cricket for Staffordshire cc and I played for the Staffordshire youth squads, although I never got the chance to play for the senior team as I became one of the lucky ones who ended up fulfilling a child hood dream and becoming a professional cricketer.

I signed for Warwickshire County cricket club in 1994 with my career spanning 15 years, winning a county championship along the way and a Sunday league cup. I played in a couple of finals, but  as we lost them both I don't like to mention them. Ha.

I too, like Rach have had dogs all my life. When I was growing up with my family we had two German Shepherds Rusty and Dane. I then moved away from the breed and got Kai our Rhodesian Ridgeback. I wish it were true that the owner looks like their dog because I would be one good looking boy if that were the case, ha. Now we have Harvey and TJ both completely different characters but bring so much joy.

Harvey

Harvey is our Giant Puppy, so laid  back and loves everyone. He loves nothing more than sitting  on the sofa (you as well) and having cuddles. He is such a pleasure to be around and gives us as much love as we give him (as well as slobber!!!) Whenever Harvey meets people he has this ability to make them smile, he is so gentle and just loves meeting new friends!

Harvey

TJ

TJ is our little darling, such a character, if there is something going on… he’s there! The best guard dog ever, he always lets us know if anyone is near the house. He too loves his cuddles on the sofa (and bed) and makes us laugh so much. He absolutely loves his walks, he can walk for miles and still have energy left over. He loves playing with all his friends up the field and he and Harvey can get up to a lot of mischief too! The only thing he doesn’t like is rain!

TJ

Meet the newest member of our family!   Chief

Chief is Harvey's little brother, he was born in May and he came home with us in July! He is big character but has settled in just lovely. At the moment he has Harvey to play with and TJ is his partner in crime! If something naughty is going on, you can pretty much bet that they are both involved!!!

The Pack

Here are our dogs together, In this photo Chief is 5 months old! Growing very fast! Also I know a lot of people worry how TJ gets on with two very big dogs, truth is, you don't need to worry, TJ can very much look after himself to the point where they are scared of hm!!!
